Boy, has Pinterest come a long way in the past year. I first posted about the virtual bulletin board website in May 2011 (Are You Pinterested?) and in December it became one of the top 10 social networks, according to the tracking firm Hitwise.

Well in honor of being included on the “15 Top-Notch Local Design Bloggers (and Pinners!) To Follow Now” by Refinery29, I thought I’d share some not-so-electronic fashion ideas straight from my old school idea book that have me itching for warmer weather.

Color blocking is still huge this spring – and nothing can stir us from our winter lull like some neon accessories, bright maxi skirts, and creative color pairing. Dear hot pink Jason Wu skirt: Hello, lover.

I’m also anxiously counting down to a European vacation this spring. These airy blouses have a world traveler feel that will be perfect for wherever your voyage vogue takes you!

Wilde Style

Olivia Wilde took a different approach to her red carpet style over the weekend at a premier for Cowboys vs. Aliens. She wore an understated black lace Dolce & Gabbana dress.

Olivia’s definitely not new to the red carpet scene. She made quite a splash at the Golden Globes this past year in a bedazzled Marchesa ballgown.

One of my all time fav looks of hers was back for the 2008 Emmy’s in Reem Acra. The neckline and the beaded sleeves…sigh.

While it was for a movie premier, and not a big awards show, and therefore she doesn’t need to pull out the big guns, what do you think? Is she maturing in her style or has she jumped to a Golden Girl already?

Made Awesome Skirts

Madewell’s got some skirts to swoon over.

Silk Canyon Skirt in Turkish Olive $158
Dusklight Skirt in Heather $78
Chambray Sightseer Skirt $98

A Bouquet of Jeans

I’m craving a pair of colorful matchstick jeans. Ashley Green of Twilight-fame rocked a pair of Blank N.Y.C. skinny jeans in hot red while Rihanna wore electric yellow Cassette jeans.

All signs from the fall runway point to this trend is here to stay – though the colors for fall are a bit more muted. But with a wallet-friendly version like these teal ones from ASOS, you can afford to buy the whole rainbow.
